To take two catches as a fielder in one innings is a good effort. But when they are both off your own bowling as part of a five-wicket haul it is an outstanding achievement.
That’s exactly what Lachlan Diercks did on the last game before Christmas against Goodwood.
Bowling first in their under-14 div 2 match, Lachlan’s Brighton Gold side dismissed Goodwood inside the allotted 30 overs for 124.
Lachlan bowled four overs, including a maiden, and took 5/9.
Brodie Badenoch chimed in with two wickets and Jacob Talbot took two catches.
Brighton went on to win the game, posting 4/125 off 27.3 overs.
Jacob Talbot top scored with 18, Owen Thomas made 16 and Oliver Spence hit the winning boundary to finish on 16 not out.
Well done boys!
